munta-andrea-tirelli
'Muntà' Andrea Tirelli

The ‘Muntà’ from the Piedmontese producer Andrea Tirelli is a slightly macerated white wine with valuable balance and harmony, resulting from a biodynamic production approach. The agronomic and enological philosophy adopted by the winemaker involves maximum respect for the health of the ecosystem and minimal intervention in the winery, in order to enhance the unaltered expression of the terroir. This productive spirit is represented by the triskelion, the winery's logo that recalls the ancient Celtic culture where it symbolized the elements of earth, air, and water, united by energy in a dynamic swirling.

Andrea Tirelli’s ‘Muntà’ originates from only white grapes grown on clay-limestone soils according to organic and biodynamic practices. The plants also benefit from full south exposure and an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level. Usually, during the first decade of September, manual harvesting takes place, and the grapes undergo a brief pre-fermentation maceration of 48 hours, followed by spontaneous alcoholic fermentation of the must thanks to the sole intervention of the naturally present yeasts on the grapes and in the winemaking environment. Subsequently, the liquid matures for several months in cement tanks on the fine lees with periodic batonnage. The clarification occurs naturally through static decantation, and the wine is finally bottled without undergoing any filtration process. At least 6 months of further resting in the bottle follow before the final market release.

The color of Andrea Tirelli’s ‘Muntà’ is intense golden yellow. On the nose, one perceives hints of summer fruit, white flowers, and fresh almond, surrounded by balsamic and slightly spicy nuances. Tasting savory and well-structured, fresh and balanced, with a enveloping finish.
